it's about the journey.

We are on a mission to inspire, motivate, and share our experiences.

Living for the weekend.

We love to fly to new exotic locations, who doesn't? but over the years we’ve found that some of the most memorable experiences are in our backyard. Getting outside and just doing stuff: travelling, walking, hiking, trying new restaurants, doing something that scares us a bit, riding a motorcycle, Overlanding, off-roading -- heck any new experience that makes us feel alive.

When we’ve been asked what we are doing for the weekend or where we’ve been, most often, the reply we get is “Didn’t even know that place existed!”

Where it began.

It all started in 2018, as a result of a work transfer, we found ourselves leaving family and friends and relocating to Ontario. We decided right away that we were going to experience everything that Ontario had to offer. To say the least, it didn’t disappoint. We tried new food, explored new places, and visited a lot of places that most lifetime, local residents never knew existedFast forward two and half years later we found ourselves returning to Alberta a little disappointed because, though we used every moment of free time available, we knew we missed something.

We resolved to continue what we started in Ontario, in Alberta. Although I grew up in Alberta, the places we’ve discovered in the short time we’ve been back are mind-blowing. We came to realize that we were sitting right on top of some of the most beautiful destinations in the world, it's crazy the things you take for granted that are right under your nose. Turns out all you have to do is get out. It really is that easy.

The love of planning.

The experience in Ontario also impacted the way we travel. No matter how meticulously we plan, it seems to always take us longer to get where we're going than we planned. But, we lean into it because we are no longer trying to get from Point A to B as quickly as possible, now it's about the journey. Taking in everything along the way -- the good, the bad, and the unexpected detours.

We then make sure to document and share our experiences with everyone we know in hopes that they take the journey themselves one day, and share in the excitement too.

And now here we are, Squatch Overland.
